The 'B' for Bad: Roughly since 1845 there were salt water curative treatments� in K�stritz.�In 1865 an active spa and bath bustle started and the state title 'Bad' was awarded to the village in�1926. Until 1990 war Bad K�stritz was a spa resort with a�sanatorium. Today the Bad-tradition finds its continuance in modern senior citizen care and successful efforts in tourism. An attractive town design and the park care in the style of English country gardens as well as numerous cultural events offer visitors a pleasant stay. The 'House of the guest' with dahlia-centre, the small gallery GUCKE, the town library as well as� Bad K�stritz information await its visitors.

The�'B' for Baroque music: Heinrich Sch�tz was born at the former pub 'Obere Sch�nke'�in 1585. He's regarded as an important German composer before�Johann Sebastian Bach. His life and work is being cultivated at the research and memorial place Heinrich-Sch�tz-House.Several concerts, exhibitions and music-scientific events characterise the�museum's year at this acknowledged culture place.��

The 'B' for beer: The K�stritzer stout brewery is one of Germany's oldest. Since 1543 beer is being brewed commercially in K�stritz. Brewing had its origin at the former inherited inns 'Goldner Kranich' and 'Goldner L�we'. K�stritzer stout is known the world round.

The 'B' for Blumen (flower): For over 200 years K�stritz�is the place�for flowers and nurseries. Regarded as founder of this tradition are apart from the well-known court gardeners also Christian Deegen und Johann Sieckmann. By setting up the dahlia centre with the German dahlia archive, a permanent exhibition and show garden this tradition is being carried on in a dignified way. Today the dahlia nursery 'Paul Panzer' continuous the breeding success of the K�stritzer Altmeister.

Bad K�stritz and sports: The little�town has a good name as organiser of big sports events. The athletics stadium is a traditional venue of the K�stritz throwing day where the elite of throw and shot push disciplines from all the world.
The pretty summer swimming pool has been reconstructed�to modern standards and was reopened as family-friendly leisure and recreation pool in� 1998. Modern beach-fields are also on offer as well as tennis and street-ball facilities.

Bad K�stritz is rich in landmarks and things worth knowing. Several listed buildings, cared for park and green facilities, romantic corners and traditional crafts characterise the picture of this little town. In the centre we'll find the palace facility of the K�stritz Reu�en, the historical baronial brewery, the�� K�stritz mill as well as historical sites and memorials for the composers� Heinrich Sch�tz, Georg Benda and the poet clergyman Julius Sturm.
